This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for an Associate Principal Engineer - Senior Systems Engineer – Azure & Infrastructure in the United States.

This role is a critical part of a fast-growing digital product engineering environment, focusing on the reliable day-to-day operations of cloud and on-premises infrastructure while driving continuous improvements. You will manage Azure and hybrid infrastructure, ensuring stability, security, and scalability for enterprise workloads. The position combines hands-on technical administration with strategic lifecycle initiatives, providing opportunities to optimize automation, monitoring, and operational processes. You will collaborate closely with security, network, and application teams, contributing to projects that enhance system resilience and performance. This is a highly visible role where technical expertise directly impacts business continuity and user experience.

Accountabilities:

  • Administer Windows Server and Linux environments, including build, configuration, patching, upgrades, and troubleshooting
  • Provision, monitor, and manage Azure infrastructure components such as Virtual Machines, storage accounts, VNets/subnets, NSGs, load balancers, VPN/ExpressRoute, Azure Backup, Site Recovery, and Azure Monitor/Log Analytics
  • Support Azure PaaS services and hybrid connectivity, integrating with identity, DNS, networking, and on-prem virtualization systems
  • Act as an escalation point for complex incidents, performing root-cause analysis and driving corrective/preventive actions
  • Identify, prioritize, and remediate security vulnerabilities in collaboration with Security teams
  • Maintain, improve, and validate backup/restore processes, monitoring, and system performance
  • Automate routine tasks and operational workflows using PowerShell and other command-line tooling; contribute to runbooks and documentation
  • Follow ITIL-aligned incident, problem, change, and request processes, ensuring accurate documentation and diagrams
  • Coordinate with internal infrastructure teams and vendors to deliver deployments, upgrades, and troubleshooting support
  • Participate in lifecycle initiatives, including cloud provisioning, application deployments/upgrades, and standardization of server builds/configurations
  • Requirements:

    • 8+ years of experience in systems administration or infrastructure engineering, including hybrid cloud environments
    • Hands-on Azure administration experience; Microsoft Azure Administrator Associate (AZ-104) preferred
    • Experience with Windows Server administration; Microsoft Windows Server Hybrid Administrator Associate (AZ-800/AZ-801) preferred
    • Security and vulnerability management experience; Microsoft Azure Security Engineer (AZ-500) or equivalent preferred
    • Knowledge of VMware or Hyper-V for hybrid/on-prem support advantageous
    • ITIL Foundation certification or equivalent service management experience
    • Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, and root-cause analysis skills
    • Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and document technical solutions clearly
    • Proficiency in automation using PowerShell, scripting, or command-line tooling
