As we move on to new projects, the studio that brought you Baldur’s Gate 3 & Divinity: Original Sin 2 is looking for a Backend Developer to join the team and help us in crafting the high calibre games our fans have come to expect.
Responsibilities
Architect and develop scalable backend applications using the PHP / Nodejs following best practices and design patterns.Be fully integrated into the entire project lifecycle, ensuring backend expertise is utilized from the earliest stages right through to long-term maintenance.Collaborate closely with graphics designers, frontend developers, and other teams to ensure alignment on requirements and deliver high-quality solutions.Integrate with the Larian ecosystem, working with RESTful APIs, third-party services, and ensuring smooth data flow across systems.Actively contribute to the evolution of the technology stack, driving decisions around new tools, frameworks, and best practices for backend development and infrastructure.
Requirements
Strong communication skills and the ability to work well in a distributed team.Proactive, with the ability to work autonomously3+ years of experience with the PHP Symfony framework and Nodejs/Typescript applications in production environments.Strong knowledge of PHP and Javascript/Typescript - solid understanding of design patterns (SOLID, DDD, etc.).Experience with database management and optimization, particularly using ORMs (eg. Doctrine).Proficiency in building and optimizing RESTful APIs.Hands-on experience with DockerFamiliarity with monitoring tools like Sentry
Nice to haves
Experience with PHP Sylius ecommerce frameworkExperience with Cloudflare platformExperience with Redis, RabbitMQ, or other message brokers is a plus.Experience with headless CMS and API-first developmentCI/CD experience
