About The Role
DexCare is looking for a Software Engineer II - Backend who is excited about getting in on the ground floor of a fast-growing startup with a well-established team and multiple large and respected clients, DexCare is the place for you! As an engineer in this role, you will be a key part of building out solutions from the ground-up. You will contribute to the full breadth of the codebase – working both on responsive SPA web applications and backend services. Every engineer is expected to work across the full stack and suite of offerings. Candidates should be prepared to interact daily with other engineers, as well as product managers, product designers, and solution architects.
What You’ll Do:
- Proficiency in building out highly testable code with strong contracts
- Proficient with test automation frameworks and validating across an array of code configurations
- Comfort designing and interacting with SQL and NoSQL databases, including DB schema changes and migrations
- Proficiency using distributed version control systems, such as Git
- Demonstrable experience driving the technical design of small to medium-sized features and working with your team on their implementation
- Participate in on-call rotation
What You’ll Bring:
4 years of relevant on-the-job experience in shipping enterprise software using SOA and delivering solutions end-to-end
3 years of experience building out services using TypeScript with Node.js or another strongly typed, object-oriented language
3 years of experience building out services using Python
Experience configuring and maintaining a SaaS solution built on Amazon Web Services (AWS) and Kubernetes (including Helm) with Docker containers
Experience using logging, monitoring, and metric tools such as Splunk and DataDog
Experience mentoring more junior engineers
Experience designing and building agentic AI systems, including orchestration of multi-step AI workflows, tool use, and integration of large language models into production back-end services
Experience using Claude Code for AI-assisted development, including leveraging agentic workflows to accelerate test authoring, framework development, and code reviews
