Accountabilities:
- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of data scientists, fostering a collaborative and high-performing culture
- Act as the technical lead for data science initiatives, ensuring timely delivery and alignment with project goals
- Design, develop, and review scalable data solutions using SQL, Python, and PySpark
- Collaborate with data engineering teams to build and optimize ETL pipelines in cloud-based environments
- Translate complex data into clear, actionable insights for stakeholders and leadership
- Serve as the primary technical point of contact for cross-functional teams and external partners
- Drive best practices in data architecture, documentation, testing, and deployment
- Monitor project performance, remove blockers, and continuously improve workflows and processes
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, or a related field
- 8+ years of experience in data science or data engineering, including at least 2 years in a leadership or management role
- Strong experience working with healthcare datasets such as Medicaid or Medicare claims is highly preferred
- Advanced proficiency in SQL, Python, and PySpark for large-scale data processing and analysis
- Hands-on experience with modern data platforms such as Databricks and cloud environments (e.g., AWS)
- Solid understanding of data engineering principles, ETL processes, and data modeling techniques
- Familiarity with software development best practices including version control and CI/CD pipelines
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences
- Strong problem-solving mindset with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
