Deputy Chief Engineer - Software

Job Summary:
We are seeking a Deputy Chief Engineer to lead our efforts in developing and deploying software capabilities for artificial intelligence, machine learning, data management, decision systems, and mission planning software applications for the US National Security Ecosystem. This is an exceptional opportunity for an engineer with a combination of technical expertise, program leadership experience, and the ability to interface with customers to drive innovation, collaboration, and excellence in a fast-paced, growing organization.
Responsibilities:

Set the technical vision and direction for programs, collaborating with internal technical staff and external customers

Lead multidisciplinary teams developing algorithms, software, cloud, and data management solutions

Manage program execution, ensuring schedule and budget adherence, and overseeing successful program delivery

Cultivate strong relationships with external partners and stakeholders, advocating for MORSE's technology and services

Identify and pursue new business opportunities, expanding our portfolio and driving long-term growth

Provide technical oversight and guidance to program team members
Requirements:

US Citizenship and ability to obtain and maintain a Security Clearance

Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, Software Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field

Minimum of 5 years of experience in software development, with a focus on AI/ML, cloud computing, and/or decision systems

Proven leadership skills, with a track record of successfully managing high-performing technical teams

Deep understanding of software development principles, methods, and tools

Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with the capacity to absorb complex technical information quickly

Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present technical information clearly and persuasively to both technical and non-technical audiences

Experience with Agile methodologies and DevOps practices

Familiarity with cloud computing platforms and infrastructure
