This role offers an opportunity to lead and scale engineering teams responsible for building next-generation credit products in a high-impact fintech environment. The Director will oversee multiple engineering teams, ensuring platform resiliency, scalability, and operational excellence. You will partner closely with Product, Data, Risk, Compliance, and Operations to shape strategy, deliver secure and highly available systems, and drive innovation. This position demands strong leadership, technical expertise, and a passion for raising engineering standards while enabling teams to execute efficiently. Accountabilities:

  • Lead and develop multiple engineering teams responsible for core credit platform capabilities.
  • Drive architectural decisions, platform resiliency, high availability, and operational excellence.
  • Partner with Product and cross-functional teams to define roadmap, delivery strategy, and prioritization.
  • Establish and maintain engineering standards, including code quality, testing, documentation, and execution rigor.
  • Oversee sprint planning, progress tracking, and measurable outcome delivery.
  • Recruit, mentor, and grow top engineering talent, building bench strength and a high-performance culture.
  • Stay engaged with system design and code while empowering teams to take ownership of delivery.
  • Requirements:
  • 10+ years of software engineering experience, with at least 5 years managing engineering managers or multiple teams.
  • Proven experience designing and scaling distributed systems in cloud-native environments, preferably AWS.
  • Strong knowledge of microservices architecture, high availability systems, and platform resiliency practices.
  • Experience operating in regulated or compliance-sensitive environments, fintech experience preferred.
  • Demonstrated track record of improving engineering standards, execution discipline, and team performance.
  • Exceptional leadership, communication, and decision-making skills, with the ability to drive clarity in ambiguous situations.
  • Master’s degree in Computer Science or related field preferred.
  • Experience building or scaling credit products (underwriting, ledgering, servicing, transaction processing) is a plus.
