ActiveCampaign's engineering team is growing rapidly and we are looking for experienced Engineering Managers to join our Kraków Hub. Our ideal candidate is someone who thrives in a high-growth environment with rapidly evolving needs, and is ready to lead teams through a significant AI-first transformation. We're looking for driven and curious engineering leaders who combine strong people management with technical depth, and who are open to embracing new technologies and ways of working. Our Kraków Hub houses multiple engineering teams — Forms, Integrations, Ecommerce, Agency, CRM, Mobile, CampaignsUI, and Content — working across different product pillars with a shared focus on building agentic workflows into all core functionalities across the ActiveCampaign platform. Our engineering managers are people with varying technical backgrounds and interests who are heavily involved in the technical details of their team. As managers, our main focus is keeping our teams efficient, well-prioritized, and executing on the right goals. What your day could consist of:
Team Leadership & DeliveryLead a team of talented engineers who like to ship code and tackle hard engineering problemsDrive strict prioritization and delivery management — ensuring your team is focused on high-impact work and delivering predictablyCreate a collaborative work environment that fosters autonomy, inclusivity, innovation, learning, respect and transparency while holding a high bar for craftsmanshipShare knowledge with team members via mentoring, code reviews, design doc reviews, technical talks, and timely feedbackMaintain rigor in high code quality, automated testing, and other engineering best practicesContribute to and execute on the organization's vision and standards around security, quality, observability, and clean codeSupport legacy and modern services and applications in the public cloud and deploy them through CI/CD practicesDemonstrate problem solving and technical innovation by staying hands-on — contributing to architecture decisions, reviewing code, and writing code when neededChampion AI-first engineering practices — driving adoption of AI tooling and agentic development workflows within your teamCollaborate closely with Product Managers, UX Designers, other Engineering Managers, and cross-functional teams to ensure we're building great productsPartner with other engineering teams to identify and evangelize opportunities to improve engineering productivityWork closely with the ActiveCampaign People Team to hire high-caliber candidates from diverse backgroundsMaintain flexible working hours with at least a few hours of daily overlap with Chicago timezone (US Central), including availability for afternoon meetings to facilitate cross-site collaboration
What we're looking for:
Required:3+ years of hands-on technical leadership and people management experienceStrong software development background with experience building and deploying scalable applications in the cloud using CI/CD practicesProduction experience in PHP; Python or Java is a plusSolid database experience with SQL, NoSQL, and event streaming technologiesProven ability to drive prioritization, delivery cadence, and execution rigor across a teamQuality-first mindset with experience solving challenging technical problems at scaleStrong communication skills and customer focusFluent in English (B2 minimum)Willingness to work flexible hours with regular afternoon availability to overlap with US Central timezoneNice to have:Experience leading teams through AI/ML adoption or integrating agentic workflows into engineering practicesExperience with organizational scaling — growing teams, establishing processes, and navigating rapid changeTrack record of cross-timezone collaboration in distributed engineering organizations
