This role is a leadership position overseeing a high-impact team of Data Scientists, ML Engineers, and Optimization Specialists dedicated to building and operating advanced real-time dispatch optimization platforms. You will drive both technical strategy and team development, transforming research models into production-grade solutions that directly improve operational efficiency and service outcomes. The position requires a strong combination of hands-on technical expertise in ML, optimization, and cloud-native architectures, along with leadership skills to mentor, retain, and grow top talent. You will manage project roadmaps, ensure scientific rigor, and collaborate across cross-functional teams while guiding the operationalization of ML and optimization workflows. Accountabilities:

  • Lead, mentor, and manage a high-performing team of Data Scientists, ML Engineers, and Optimization Specialists, fostering a collaborative, inclusive, and results-driven environment
  • Define and execute technical roadmaps for the Data Science and ML team, including project planning, risk management, and delivery of high-quality, scalable solutions
  • Drive the selection and implementation of advanced ML, optimization, and analytics strategies, balancing scientific rigor, technical feasibility, and business impact
  • Oversee the design and operationalization of cloud-native, low-latency services, including MLOps workflows for model training, deployment, monitoring, and validation
  • Partner with cross-functional teams, including Product, Operations, and Data Engineering, to translate complex technical findings into actionable insights and business outcomes
  • Establish and monitor metrics for platform performance, identifying areas for continuous improvement and innovation
  • Ensure compliance with operational, security, and regulatory standards while maintaining platform reliability and performance
  • Requirements:

    • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Operations Research, or a related quantitative field (Master’s preferred)
    • 6+ years of relevant experience in Data Science, ML Engineering, or Operations Research, with proven success transitioning models into scalable production systems
    • 2+ years of experience in engineering management or technical leadership of DS/ML teams
    • Strong expertise in ML frameworks (e.g., PyTorch, XGBoost, Transformers), constrained optimization methods (MIP/Linear/Stochastic), and Python-based cloud-native architectures
    • Experience with MLOps tools and pipelines such as SageMaker, Airflow, or equivalents
    • Demonstrated ability to deliver complex ML/Optimization projects with measurable business impact
    • Exceptional leadership, mentoring, and team-building skills, with a focus on collaboration and inclusivity
    • Strong project management skills within Agile/Scrum environments, including estimation, planning, and execution
    • Excellent communication skills for presenting technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
    • Flexibility to adapt to a fast-paced environment, with occasional travel as required
