The Engineering Manager will lead a high-impact product engineering team, driving the end-to-end delivery of customer-facing features and developer workflows. You will partner closely with Product and Design to shape roadmaps, define architecture, and ensure high-quality execution while mentoring and growing a team of engineers. This role requires a hands-on leader with experience shipping products at scale, strong systems-level technical expertise in cloud and Linux environments, and the ability to make strategic technical decisions. You will be instrumental in delivering scalable, reliable, and performant platforms that support millions of users. The position blends technical depth with team leadership, operational excellence, and a customer-focused mindset. You will influence both the immediate product area and the broader engineering culture in a fast-moving, remote-first environment.
Accountabilities:
Lead a team responsible for delivering new features and iterating on existing product surfaces, ensuring high-quality, predictable outcomes.Translate product strategy into clear technical plans, milestones, and measurable success metrics.Drive architecture and system design for scalable, performant, and reliable product-layer services and workflows.Hire, mentor, and develop engineers, fostering a culture of ownership, craft, and collaboration in a remote-first setting.Enhance quality, reliability, and observability of customer-facing systems through automated testing, release processes, and regression prevention.Collaborate cross-functionally with Product, Program Management, Support, GTM, and Infrastructure teams to coordinate dependencies while maintaining ownership.Establish operational excellence via team rituals, delivery processes, and data-driven improvements to throughput, cycle time, and feature adoption.
Requirements:
2+ years of engineering management experience leading high-performance software teams, including roadmap ownership, hiring/firing, and team culture development.6+ years of software engineering experience building and shipping high-scale products used by millions of users.Strong systems-level technical expertise in Linux internals and/or cloud platform engineering (orchestration, control planes, distributed services, networking, or storage layers).Proficiency in backend or full-stack development; experience with Go, Python, and/or TypeScript preferred.Solid understanding of distributed/cloud-native architecture, including microservices, APIs, eventing, data stores, and service-to-service communication.Metrics-driven approach to delivery and team performance (cycle time, throughput, adoption, escape defects).Remote-first leadership skills, with the ability to communicate clearly, align stakeholders asynchronously, and maintain team momentum across time zones.Successful completion of background check.Preferred Qualifications:
Experience building AI/ML or developer platforms, workflow-heavy products, or infrastructure-adjacent product layers.Familiarity with Kubernetes, container runtimes, scheduling concepts, or GPU/accelerator workflows.Proven ability to scale teams in high-growth environments while maintaining high quality.Contributions to open-source cloud-native, systems, or ML-adjacent projects.
