This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for an EverCommerce – Staff Software Engineer in the United States.

This role sits at the intersection of hands-on engineering, solution architecture, and technical leadership within a fast-evolving SaaS environment. You will design and build scalable AWS-based microservices, enterprise integrations, and automation solutions that power critical business workflows. The position combines deep backend engineering with architectural ownership across APIs, event-driven systems, and iPaaS automation platforms. You will also help shape the adoption of AI-driven and agentic workflows to modernize internal and customer-facing systems. Acting as both a technical lead and individual contributor, you will guide engineering teams through design decisions, code quality, and production readiness. This is a highly collaborative role where you will partner with stakeholders across business and engineering to translate complex needs into robust, scalable solutions. The environment is distributed, fast-paced, and focused on delivering high-impact, production-grade systems at scale.

Accountabilities

  • Lead the technical design and development of enterprise integration, automation, and SaaS platform initiatives.
  • Architect and implement AWS-based microservices, REST APIs, event-driven systems, and secure integration patterns.
  • Contribute hands-on to backend development, including services, databases, APIs, and automation workflows.
  • Guide engineering teams through design reviews, code reviews, troubleshooting, and production readiness processes.
  • Collaborate with business and technical stakeholders to translate requirements into scalable technical solutions.
  • Design and support AI-enabled and agentic automation use cases across business domains.
  • Define and promote engineering best practices across SDLC, testing, observability, security, and release management.
  • Lead production troubleshooting efforts and drive root cause analysis with long-term system improvements.
  • Requirements

    • Strong background in software engineering with extensive hands-on backend development experience.
    • Proven experience designing and building solutions on AWS cloud infrastructure.
    • Deep knowledge of microservices architecture, REST APIs, databases, authentication, and integration patterns.
    • Experience with automation or iPaaS platforms such as Workato or similar tools.
    • Familiarity with AWS Bedrock and AI-enabled solution development is highly desirable.
    • Ability to lead technical design discussions and mentor engineers in a collaborative environment.
    • Strong understanding of SDLC practices including testing, deployment, monitoring, and production support.
    • Experience with AWS services such as Lambda, API Gateway, SQS/SNS, EventBridge, CloudWatch, IAM, and Secrets Manager is a plus.
    • Exposure to AI/ML concepts such as LLMs, RAG, or agentic workflows is highly valued.
    • Strong communication, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills with the ability to operate in ambiguity.
    • Experience with security, compliance, SOX controls, and audit-ready engineering practices is a plus.
