We’re looking for a Fullstack Engineer to join our Platform Developer Experience team. This group is passionate about building the best possible developer experience for Spotifiers and thousands of developers around the world.
You’ll work on products used by other engineers every day — improving usability, reliability, and the overall experience of building at Spotify. If you’re excited about the role AI can play in shaping modern developer workflows and want to help make that experience thoughtful, safe, and scalable, this could be a great fit.
What You'll Do
Help define and deliver Spotify’s AI developer experience by authoring and evolving agent contextContribute to skills and workflows that make agent behavior more reliable, predictable, and useful in production environmentsWork on context services built on modern model-to-tool protocols (e.g., MCP) to support AI-driven systems.Build and improve the TechDocs platform experience, including its supporting services and tooling (e.g., MkDocs-based build containers and the documentation-serving backend proxy)Build and operate developer tooling that is easy to adopt, including CLI-driven onboardingDebug and resolve issues across the stack, from local developer environments to CI pipelines, containerized builds, and cloud-hosted servicesTake operational responsibility for services and tooling owned by the team, which may include participating in an on-call rotationCollaborate with engineers and stakeholders across Spotify to understand pain points and deliver improvements that scale across teamsPromote sound engineering practices such as testing, incremental rollouts, reliability, and clear documentation
Who You Are
1+ years of experience working with TypeScript and Node.Exposure to building or integrating LLM-powered coding agents, including tool use, planning loops, and multi-step workflows.Familiarity with search design patterns (e.g., vector search systems, elasticsearch, indexing strategies)Experience designing and operating distributed systems, and deploying services using containerized tooling (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).Experience working with containerized toolingStrong software engineering fundamentals and experience shipping well-scoped features end-to-endClear written communication skills and the ability to create structured, actionable documentation
You Might Also Have:Experience building tools or platforms used by other engineers.Familiarity with developer portals, plugins, or internal platform tooling.Experience with MkDocs or docs-as-code workflows.Exposure to GCP services related to artifact storage or content delivery.Experience working with AI-assisted tooling, agent frameworks, or deterministic tool integrations.
Where You'll Be
This role is based in New York, NYWe offer you the flexibility to work where you work best! There will be some in person meetings, but still allows for flexibility to work from home. We ask that you come in 3 times per week.
