THE ROLE
The Junior Product Developer is responsible for working closely together with the Design and Merchandising departments to develop products that deliver according the quality, aesthetic, and gross margin targets of the division within the given time frame. You build strong relationships with your vendors / suppliers and together with them you secure the best product in time. When a review meeting is organized, you secure the availability of samples and costs. You report directly into the Director Development & Production Accessories
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Sourcing (Soft & Lifestyle)
Development of our main collection and quick Injection capsules; (hats, scarves, gloves, belts, canvas totes, keychains, umbrellas)
Manage all supplier communication and ensure accuracy of internal files;
Information maintenance: ensure accuracy, completeness, and timelines of data in PLM (e.g. BOM, prices)
Preparing and taking part in proto meetings;
Judging proto samples on technical details, measurements and workmanship;
Communicating comments to vendors and anticipating feasibility of changes within time-line;
Placing and managing buys for assigned product categories.
Production progress tracking, monitoring deadlines and status;
Continuously improving the products by finding innovative techniques as well as new yarns, trims and leather qualities.
Product and production know-how to realize best FOB prices;
Working closely with design, production and vendors
THE PROFILE
2-3 years of experience working in sourcing/development/production of accessories;
Able to work in a hectic environment, with deadlines
Solid knowledge of leathers, fabrics/ trims and fabrication
Understanding of costing
Experience in working with European and Far East suppliers
Distinctive product taste level with an eye for detail
Excellent communication skills
Able to work independently, as well as in a team
Flexibility, adaptability and a positive "can-do" attitude are a must
Language: fluent in English, both verbal and written
