🎯 The Role: Lead Backend Engineer
We're looking for a hands-on, experienced Backend Lead who can both drive technical excellence and lead a team of engineers. This is a rare opportunity to join an early-stage startup and influence architecture, scale systems, and shape product direction at the intersection of cloud, data, and AI.
You’ll work directly with the founders and engineering leadership to design backend systems that are secure, scalable, and cost-efficient — while also mentoring and growing a high-caliber engineering team.

Lead the architecture, design, and implementation of scalable backend services for our SaaS platformOwn technical decisions across distributed systems, cloud-native workflows, and backend infrastructureDrive performance, reliability, and observability initiatives across core platform componentsGuide and mentor a growing team of backend engineers through technical reviews, goal setting, and career growthCollaborate cross-functionally with product, frontend, and DevOps teams to deliver high-impact featuresMake foundational decisions around backend technologies, frameworks, and system designEstablish and enforce best practices in software engineering, testing, and deploymentParticipate in hiring, onboarding, and fostering a strong engineering culture of collaboration and excellenceStay on top of industry trends, evaluate new technologies, and help set the technical roadmap
✅ What We’re Looking For
8+ years of backend development experience (Java, Golang, C++, or similar languages)Proven expertise in designing and scaling distributed systems and cloud-native architecturesTrack record of technical leadership, mentorship, and team-buildingDeep understanding of backend fundamentals — data structures, networking, system design, and cloud scalabilityStrong debugging, problem-solving, and performance optimization skillsExperience working in fast-paced product-first startup environmentsHigh ownership mindset with strong communication and collaboration skillsPassion for building clean, scalable, and reliable systems that last

Experience with cloud data warehouses: Snowflake, BigQuery, Databricks, RedshiftHands-on with AWS, GCP, or Azure in production environmentsFamiliarity with containers (Docker) and orchestration (Kubernetes)Experience working with both SQL and NoSQL systemsExposure to building SaaS platforms or developer infrastructureOpen-source contributions or active engagement in developer communities
