Foth is currently seeking a Lead Civil Engineer with a Marine Infrastructure emphasis to lead project teams focused on large-scale civil site development from conceptual planning through construction. Candidates must be located in the Memphis or Nashville, TN areas. This is an exciting opportunity to lead and grow a local team and build a regional brand for Foth in the state of Tennessee!
Primary Responsibilities:
Lead large-scale multi-discipline civil site design and construction activities across various industriesOversee the completion of technical engineering activities from strategic planning through project closurePreparation of feasibility studies and technical design reports, including engineering cost estimatingUnderstand and interpret design and construction specificationsOversee the preparation of construction drawings for projects including site grading, paving, and utilities, including storm water systems, wastewater collection, and water distribution systemsEngage and collaborate with the diverse technical service areas across Foth to provide unique engineering solutionsParticipate in regular and impromptu client meetings serving as a trusted and reliable partnerDelegate tasks to a multi-disciplined team of technicians, engineers, and scientistsMentor and coach team members of various experience levelsLead subcontractors for design and construction activities that Foth chooses not to self-performPerform in tasks such as: field activities, CAD work, permit applications, report writing, technical reports, feasibility studies, and engineering designsPrepare and collaborate on design drawings using CAD principlesLead and/or support the development of design standards and best practice
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in Civil EngineeringProfessional Engineer (PE) LicenseMinimum of 10 years of experience with hands-on engineering consisting of design, permitting and feasibility studies for civil site design projects that include public/private utilities, stormwater, roadways, and grading
Preferred Qualifications:
Minimum of 5 years of experience partnering with clients as an engineering consultant10+ years of experience planning, designing, and constructing civil site design projectsExperience with large-scale site design of industrial, manufacturing, and/or production facilitiesPrior experience serving as technical lead/designer on a variety of waterfront and coastal engineering-related projectsExperience performing coastal conditions calculations and structural analyses to develop/review design drawings for various types of marine infrastructure projectsExperience leading planning, engineering, construction, and rehabilitation of various coastal shoreline protection and stabilization projects, along with marine/waterfront structuresPrior experience navigating existing and proposed regulations related to marine infrastructure and coastal engineering
