This role offers the opportunity to lead a high-performing Platform Engineering team responsible for the infrastructure backbone that supports product development, engineering, and security operations. You will drive platform strategy, operational excellence, and developer efficiency across cloud-native, hybrid, and air-gapped environments. The position combines people leadership with technical ownership, including mentoring engineers, defining Infrastructure as Code standards, and ensuring secure, reliable, and scalable platform services. Working cross-functionally with Product, Engineering, and Cybersecurity teams, you will influence architecture, establish operational metrics, and continuously improve platform performance. The ideal candidate thrives in high-stakes, fast-moving environments, balancing tactical execution with long-term platform strategy.
Accountabilities:
Lead, mentor, and grow a team of Platform Engineers, providing direction, removing blockers, and fostering ownership of core platform infrastructure and toolingPartner with Product, Engineering, and Cybersecurity teams to ensure platform services support secure, high-velocity deliveryDefine and enforce standards for Infrastructure as Code, GitOps workflows, service onboarding, and platform releasesOversee platform reliability, observability, scalability, cost-effectiveness, and developer experienceManage operational processes including incident response, post-mortems, runbooks, and continuous improvement of platform operationsInfluence architectural decisions to ensure platform alignment with organizational goals and mission-critical requirementsRequirements:
5–8+ years of experience in Platform Engineering, DevOps, or Site Reliability Engineering roles, with 2+ years managing engineersStrong technical expertise with Kubernetes, AWS or multi-cloud environments, Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Ansible, etc.), and building platform servicesKnowledge of hybrid and air-gapped environments, including compliance, secure operations, and connectivity challengesProven ability to translate high-level requirements into actionable plans while collaborating across cross-functional teamsExperience setting and governing operational metrics, SLOs, and platform delivery measuresExcellent communication skills for conveying technical direction across engineers and stakeholders in multiple time zonesPreferred: proficiency in Python, Go, or TypeScript; GitOps expertise; experience in regulated environments or DoD/DoW projects; relevant certifications (CKA/CKAD, AWS Solutions Architect, Security+)Benefits:
