We are looking for a Platform Software Engineer (Contractor) to join our team!
This is a remote role open to candidates based in India.
We are seeking a Platform Software Engineer with strong Rust and Python experience to help build and maintain internal tooling that powers our digital manufacturing platform. In this role, you will focus on designing and developing high-performance internal libraries written in Rust, with bindings and integrations across other language hosts, including Python. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to enable rapid prototyping, scalable production systems, and automation in a fast-paced, technology- driven environment.
What you’ll do
Develop, test, and maintain internal tooling, with a primary focus on Rust-based internal libraries and multi-language bindingsDesign and develop scalable, efficient solutions to support prototyping, production, and automation workflowsCollaborate with engineers, product, and operations teams to translate requirements into robust technical solutionsWrite clean, maintainable, and well-documented code with a strong emphasis on performance and reliabilityParticipate in code reviews, architectural discussions, and the evolution of engineering best practicesContribute to improving development workflows, tooling, and CI/CD pipelinesStay current with advancements in Rust, Python, and digital manufacturing technologies
What you’ll bring
6+ years of professional experience developing production software in RustProficiency in Python, including experience with automation, scripting, or web frameworksExperience designing and maintaining reusable libraries or shared toolingFamiliarity with Git, CI/CD pipelines, and automated testing frameworksStrong problem-solving skills with attention to detail and code qualityAbility to collaborate effectively in a team-oriented, cross-functional environmentExperience working with multi-language bindings (e.g., RustPython)Familiarity with performance optimization and systems-level programmingExposure to cloud-based, platform, or manufacturing-related systemsExperience contributing to internal developer platforms or tooling ecosystemsStrong proficiency in the English language, both verbal and written
