Principal C++/Qt/Mobile Software Engineer

The Principal C++/Qt/Mobile Software Engineer role will develop cross-platform mobile applications on iOS and Android that interface with life-saving medical hardware. You will be building not just an app but a clinical tool used by healthcare providers to monitor patients in a variety of environments. This position requires deep experience in C++ , the Qt/QML platform and the iOS and Android operating system.

ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES:
    
·  Take a key role in a fast-paced cross-functional team
·        Architect, design and implement mobile interfaces in Qt/QML that visualize real-time physiological data (e.g., waveforms, alerts, trends) on iOS and Android
·        Contribute to the full software development lifecycle, including requirements analysis, design, development, code review, unit testing, integration, and verification
·        Contribute closely with the cross-functional team to define interfaces, implement robust BLE and WiFi interfaces, integrate software and hardware, and troubleshoot system-level issues
·        Ensure all development activities adhere to regulatory requirements for software for medical devices (e.g., IEC 62304) and industry best practice
·        Create and maintain detailed software documentation
·        Participate in software hazard analysis and FMEA (Failure Mode and Effects Analysis) to ensure app issues to not lead to patient harm
·        Execute with minimal guidance and provide technical oversight and guidance for other team members
·        Mentor junior engineers and drive best practice in software development

REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
 
·  10+ years’ experience and expert proficiency in modern, production-level C++
·        5+ years’ experience developing with the Qt platform, iOS and Android OS
·        Experience developing responsive UI layouts in QML
·        Experience with Qt Test for automated unit testing
·        Experience using Qt Objective-C and JNI interfaces to call native iOS and Android APIs
·        Experience developing interfaces to BLE devices in iOS and Android
·        Experience managing Apple and Play Store deployment, including signing, security and Enterprise deployment (MDM)
·        Strong experience with modern SDLC processes (unit testing, static analysis, CI/CD)
·        Strong familiarity with modern software development tools for CI/CD (e.g., Github Actions, Jenkins, CMake, Docker, etc.)
·        Experience using Agile techniques, including task / issue management
·        Demonstrated commitment to high quality
·        Strong oral and written communication skills
·        Highly motivated, self-disciplined, independent and results oriented
·        Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or related discipline preferred, or equivalent years of experience

DESIRED EXPERIENCE:
      
·  Experience developing software for medical devices and familiarity with medical device standards (e.g., IEC 62304)
·        Experience analyzing software for failure modes and developing solutions to mitigate risks. 
·        Proficiency in other programming languages such as C#, Python, or JavaScript

The base salary for this position is $150,000 to $205,000 annually, and the role is bonus eligible.
