This is a senior technical leadership role with broad impact, ideal for an engineer who thrives on building scalable, secure, and high-performing systems while guiding teams to deliver exceptional software. You will shape the long-term architecture of a core platform, balancing innovation with operational excellence, and collaborate closely across engineering, product, and infrastructure teams. You will help define engineering standards, drive foundational system improvements, and support the growth of a high-performing engineering organization. Accountabilities

  • Lead the design, architecture, and implementation of scalable, secure, and reliable backend services for a mission-critical platform.
  • Serve as a technical mentor and advisor, guiding engineers on best practices, code quality, and architectural decisions.
  • Drive cross-functional collaboration with product, infrastructure, and engineering teams to ensure alignment with business strategy.
  • Prototype and implement foundational services while promoting maintainability, performance, and operational excellence.
  • Establish and promote engineering standards, guidelines, and processes to elevate quality across the organization.
  • Evaluate and advocate for innovative technologies and solutions to improve platform reliability, developer experience, and scalability.
  • Contribute to long-term technical strategy, ensuring architecture evolves to meet growing business and regulatory needs.

  • Requirements
  • 10+ years of experience in software engineering or software architecture, with deep expertise in backend technologies.
  • 3+ years in a technical leadership role (Staff, Principal, or Architect) for SaaS products supporting engineering teams of 25–50+ engineers.
  • Proven experience influencing cross-functional teams and driving technical decisions without direct authority.
  • Strong knowledge of service-oriented architecture, cloud-based systems, and distributed system best practices.
  • Expertise in security, scalability, performance, and maintainability of complex systems.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills to effectively bridge technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Preferred: Experience in healthcare, fintech, or other regulated industries; familiarity with high-growth startup environments; demonstrated ability to implement innovative technical solutions.
