As our Senior Backend / API Engineer (d/f/m) your responsibilities will include:
Designing, developing, and maintaining scalable backend APIs and services that power core business functionality across our platformLeading the conceptualization and integration of APIs across multiple domains, ensuring consistency, performance, and long-term maintainabilityDriving continuous improvement of our engineering processes, helping the team deliver quickly and at a high standardEvaluating and adopting new technologies, bringing pragmatic innovation to the platform where it adds valueWriting modular, reliable, and testable code, and uphold high standards of code quality, readability, and architecturePartnering closely with product managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to ship impactful features and improvementsMentoring junior engineers by sharing your knowledge and guiding them toward best practices in backend and API development
What you will need to succeed in this role:
resilience and the ability to take ownership and go the extra mile when needed3+ years of experience in in modern JavaScript (ES2015+) environments, TypeScript is a pluspassion about API design and backend architecture, and enjoy building services that scalestrong opinions and experience with code quality, modular architecture, and modern engineering standardsa solid understanding of distributed systems and experience building high-availability backend applicationsbeing familiar with NoSQL databases, message queues (e.g. RabbitMQ, Kafka), and scalable infrastructure patternsbeing comfortable evaluating trade-offs and making architectural decisions that serve the long-term goals of the platforma growth mindset and the desire to learn new technologies, and contribute to a high-performance engineering culture
