As the company continues to grow, they are seeking a Senior Backend Software Engineer to help lead backend architecture, cloud engineering initiatives, and engineering best practices across their technology organization.

Role Overview

The Senior Backend Software Engineer will be responsible for designing, developing, and optimizing scalable cloud-native backend systems using C# and Microsoft Azure technologies. The Senior Backend Software Engineer will lead architecture decisions, build enterprise-grade APIs, improve application performance and reliability, mentor engineering team members, and collaborate closely with product, infrastructure, and software engineering teams. This role is ideal for an experienced engineer who enjoys solving complex technical challenges while remaining hands-on in software development and technical leadership.

Key Responsibilities

Backend Architecture & Development

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend applications and services using C# and .NET/.NET Core.

• Architect and build enterprise-grade RESTful APIs and backend services.

• Evaluate and improve application architecture, scalability, and maintainability.

• Promote engineering standards, coding best practices, and clean software architecture.

Cloud & Azure Engineering

• Design and support cloud-native applications within Microsoft Azure.

• Collaborate on deployment strategies, cloud optimization, and infrastructure improvements.

• Improve application scalability, security, reliability, and operational performance.

• Support cloud modernization and automation initiatives.

Technical Leadership

• Mentor junior and mid-level software engineers.

• Conduct code reviews and provide technical guidance.

• Participate in technical planning, architecture discussions, and solution design.

• Help establish scalable engineering processes and development standards.

Performance, Reliability & Optimization

• Troubleshoot and resolve complex production issues.

• Improve application performance, monitoring, logging, and system reliability.

• Identify opportunities to optimize backend architecture and cloud infrastructure.

• Ensure solutions are designed for long-term scalability and maintainability.

Qualifications

Experience

• 7+ years of professional software development experience.

• Extensive experience developing backend applications using C# and .NET/.NET Core.

• Experience designing and developing large-scale APIs and backend systems.

• Strong experience working within Microsoft Azure environments.

• Experience leading technical projects, architecture decisions, or engineering initiatives.

Skills

• Advanced knowledge of backend architecture and software design principles.

• Strong understanding of cloud-native application development.

• Experience with Microsoft Azure services.

• Experience with SQL databases, performance optimization, and systems integration.

• Experience collaborating with DevOps teams and CI/CD pipelines.

• Strong troubleshooting and debugging skills.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

• Excellent communication and technical leadership skills.

• Ability to mentor engineers and contribute to engineering best practices.
