About the role
As a Senior Cloud Platform Engineer, you will play a key role in designing, securing, and operating cloud-native platforms that support critical, high-impact digital systems. This role focuses on building reliable Azure-based infrastructure, enabling secure application delivery, and supporting modern Python services through well-architected DevSecOps practices.
You will work closely with engineers, security stakeholders, and delivery teams to ensure platforms are scalable, secure, and production-ready, while continuously improving automation, resilience, and operational standards.
Responsibilities
Design, configure, and operate Azure Container Apps environments, including ingress, scaling, revisions, secrets management, and custom domainsImplement and manage Private Endpoints and Private DNS to secure access to Azure PaaS servicesSecure, operate, and maintain Azure SQL and Azure Database for PostgreSQL, ensuring reliability, performance, and access controlBuild, extend, and manage Azure DevOps CI/CD pipelines, supporting application delivery beyond security-only automationHost, deploy, and support custom Python applications running on Azure infrastructureCollaborate with engineering and security teams to ensure cloud platforms meet operational, security, and compliance expectationsMonitor and maintain platform health, availability, and scalability across environmentsContribute to infrastructure standards, documentation, and continuous improvement initiatives
Requirements
5+ years of experience working with cloud platforms, with strong hands-on expertise in Microsoft Azure3+ years of experience designing, deploying, and operating container-based workloads in production environments (including Azure Container Apps or equivalent)3+ years of experience implementing secure cloud networking patterns, including Private Endpoints, Private DNS, or equivalent isolation mechanisms3+ years of experience operating and securing managed databases such as Azure SQL and PostgreSQL3+ years of experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines, with hands-on use of Azure DevOps3+ years of experience deploying, hosting, and supporting Python applications in cloud environmentsStrong understanding of cloud security, reliability, and operational best practicesProven ability to work effectively with cross-functional engineering and security teams in complex environments
Nice to Have
Experience with DevSecOps practices, including infrastructure automation and security-by-designFamiliarity with container scaling, revision management, and traffic routing in cloud-native platformsExperience supporting platforms with high availability, security, and compliance requirementsExposure to regulated or high-trust environmentsStrong documentation skills and a focus on improving platform standards and developer experience
