Are you a frontend engineer who wants to build the platform that millions of players interact with every day?

We are Poki! An Amsterdam-based tech scale-up on a mission to create the ultimate online playground — a platform where players, game developers, and technology come together to play, build, and connect. Every month, our platform reaches over 90 million players worldwide, and we collaborate with a community of more than 500 game developer teams.

We’re now looking for a Senior Frontend Engineer to join our tech team and help us ship features faster, improve developer velocity, and push our product to the next level.

As a Senior Frontend Engineer at Poki, you will:

  • Build and optimise our platform at scale to deliver smooth, lag-free experiences for millions of players across devices and network conditions.
  • Write clean, maintainable code that improves our long-term frontend architecture (React + Redux).Partner closely with product, design, and backend engineers to ship features that matter and impact engagement and retention.
  • Ensure responsive, accessible, and high-performance experiences across desktop, tablet, and mobile devices.
  • Experiment and iterate — launching tests, refining features, and improving performance over time.
  • Own your work end-to-end: from implementation to operational follow-up, bug fixes, and continuous improvement.
  • This role is about ownership and impact, not just completing tickets.

    • Your challenge as a Senior Frontend Engineer

  • Frontend capacity at Poki is currently a bottleneck in how fast we can ship product features and innovate. This role will help us:

  • Accelerate delivery from idea to production
  • Support product and design teams with senior technical capacity
  • Enable experimentation, long-term initiatives, and explorative projects
  • Reduce delivery risk if existing engineers transition or leave

    • Therefore this person needs to have:

  • 8+ years of proven frontend experience working on consumer-facing products
  • Has deep, hands-on experience with React + Redux in large-scale applications
  • Is fluent in JavaScript (ES6+) and has solid TypeScript knowledge
  • Has advanced HTML + CSS skills, with a strong focus on responsive design, accessibility, and performance
  • Can confidently translate product and design intent into high-quality interactive experiences
  • Thrives in collaboration with product, design, and backend teams
  • Education & Mindset

  • Formal education in computer science, design, or a related field is preferred — we operate in a highly educated and analytical environment.
  • Self-taught candidates with a strong learning track record and clear evidence of continuous skill development are encouraged to apply.
