TEAM
You will join the Multicloud Platform team in developing enterprise-grade Kubernetes platforms that serve as the underlying infrastructure for core applications across Woven by Toyota. We push the boundaries of cloud native technology to create highly available, robust, and secure platforms that enable our developers to build the future of mobility.
WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR?
The Multicloud Platform team is looking for a software engineer passionate about cloud-native technologies and Kubernetes platform development. You stay ahead of emerging trends in the Kubernetes and CNCF ecosystem, and are excited to explore new technologies and ways of working. You enjoy collaborating with both your immediate teammates and engineers across domains to deliver resilient, secure, and scalable solutions.
RESPONSIBILITIES
You will design and implement highly available, cost-efficient, and secure multi-cloud Kubernetes solutions and cloud servicesDevelop backend software and Kubernetes controllers, mostly written in GoWrite automated tests and health checks to validate critical componentsDesign modular infrastructure deployment patterns for Kubernetes configurations with common tools like Kustomize, Helm, and TerraformCollaborate with engineers across disciplines to define engineering requirements and deliver customer valuePartner with and advise Site Reliability and Observability engineers to triage, troubleshoot, and mitigate production issuesAdvise manager, peers, and senior leaders across domains on Kubernetes and platform engineering best practices and architecture patternsMentor junior engineers in both functional and related teams
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Extensive experience developing and maintaining a large-scale Kubernetes cloud platform in an enterprise environment using configuration tools like Kustomize or HelmAdvanced knowledge of Kubernetes infrastructure and security, including service meshes such as IstioSignificant experience developing with IaC (Infrastructure as Code) using technologies such as Terraform or Ansible5+ experience developing highly available cloud platforms on cloud providers such as AWS or GCP 5+ years of experience in backend software development using languages such as Go or PythonExperience creating CI/CD automation workflows using tools such as Github Actions or JenkinsWorking knowledge of cloud security and networking best practicesWorking proficiency in English
NICE TO HAVES
Experience with GitOps tools such as Argo or Flux CDHistory of contribution to Kubernetes open source technologiesExperience developing and maintaining a least privilege, multi-tenant platformAbility to express complex topics to a broader audience, including engineers in other domains, product managers, and other technical leadershipExperience in a multi-national team environment working across time zonesFluent in Japanese
