About the role

We’re looking for a Senior React Native Engineer to join a high-impact product team building and scaling real-world mobile applications used by active users.

This is not a ticket-execution role.

We are looking for someone who:

Thinks like a product engineer
Owns features end-to-end
Understands performance, UX, and real-world constraints
Can operate with autonomy and technical judgment

You’ll be working on a production mobile platform, collaborating closely with product, design, and engineering teams to deliver high-quality experiences.

There is a strong preference for candidates based in Chicago or open to regular in-person collaboration.

Key Responsibilities:

Build and scale mobile applications using React Native

Own features from concept → development → production

Optimize performance, responsiveness, and user experience

Collaborate with product and design on user-facing features

Work across APIs, integrations, and backend services when needed

Contribute to architectural decisions and code quality

Leverage modern tools (including AI) to improve development efficiency

Must Have:

5+ years of software engineering experience

Strong experience with React Native in production

Proven experience building and shipping mobile apps (iOS and/or Android)

Deep understanding of mobile performance, animations, and UX

Experience working with APIs and backend integrations

Strong problem-solving and debugging skills

Ability to work autonomously and take ownership of features

Based in Chicago, or open to frequent travel for in-person collaboration

Nice to Have:

Experience with React, Node.js, or full-stack environments

Experience optimizing mobile performance at scale

Exposure to AI tools, automation, or modern development workflows

Experience mentoring other engineers

Experience working in a startup or fast-paced environment
