About the Role:
As a Senior Software Engineer in the Trust Engineering Team at JioHotstar, you’ll build the backend systems that keep our platform secure and reliable for millions of users.
You’ll design and scale services that detect and mitigate threats in real time, strengthen platform integrity, and ensure every user enjoys a safe, uninterrupted experience. This role is ideal for engineers who enjoy tackling complex distributed systems challenges and driving impact through secure, high-performance design.
Key Responsibilities:
Design and build scalable, resilient microservices that drive JioStar’s Trust EngineeringLead the end-to-end delivery of complex backend projects—from technical design through deployment, monitoring, and iterationWrite high-quality, maintainable, and well-tested code with a strong focus on fault tolerance and system reliabilityDrive architectural decisions and contribute to the long-term engineering roadmapCollaborate with Product Managers, Operations, and cross-functional teams to translate business requirements into technical solutionsChampion operational excellence, including performance tuning, incident management, and root cause analysisMentor junior engineers, conduct code reviews and technical deep dives, and promote a culture of engineering excellence and knowledge sharing
Skills and Attributes for Success:
Strong proficiency in Python or GolangExperience designing and building distributed systems at scaleHands-on experience with cloud platforms (AWS preferred, AWS Mediaservices experience is a plus), messaging systems (e.g., Kafka), and CI/CD pipelinesProven ability to work autonomously in fast-paced environments, manage priorities, and deliver high-impact resultsPassion for mentoring and growing fellow engineersInterest in advertising technologies and optimizing systems for user and business outcomes
Preferred Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or a related field.6 years of experience in backend development, with a focus on building production-grade systems.
