About Us
Air-tek is a Canadian-based software company redefining how airlines operate through intelligent automation and modern, scalable systems. Our suite of products has already captured a significant share of a massive global market - and we’re only in the early innings.
While our customers know our name, we intentionally operate in stealth mode as we continue to build, innovate, and scale globally.
We’re a team of builders, problem-solvers, and innovators passionate about making airline operations seamless, data-driven, and passenger-centric. Based in Toronto, our culture thrives on trust, collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement - where every engineer can experiment, own, and make real impact.
The Role
We’re looking for Software Development Engineers (SDE I, II, and III) who are passionate about building high-quality, high-impact products - engineers who don’t just write code, but solve problems, think creatively, and care deeply about their craft. You’ll play a key role in shaping the architecture, design, and development of core systems that touch some of the most complex processes in global aviation. Whether it’s scaling integrations, designing robust APIs, or optimizing performance across distributed systems, you’ll have the opportunity to own features end-to-end, and ship work that matters. This is a place for doers - engineers who roll up their sleeves, adapt quickly, and take pride in seeing their work in action.
What You'll Do
Design and develop high-performance, scalable systems that power real-world airline operations. Build and evolve scalable systems end-to-end – from greenfield initiatives to optimizing existing integrations, APIs, and backend services that connect complex data flows and mission critical workflows. Collaborate with a world-class team of engineers, QA, and product leaders to deliver value fast. Take ownership of technical design, code quality, and solution delivery - end-to-end. Contribute ideas to architecture and roadmap discussions, influencing direction and standards Be hands-on in debugging, optimizing, and improving reliability across systems. Learn new technologies on the fly and contribute beyond your comfort zone when needed.
About You
2-8+ years of experience in software development (SDE I, II, or III depending on level). A bachelor’s degree in computer science, Software Engineering, or equivalent work experience You’re a strong coder who loves tackling ambiguous problems and building elegant solutions. Solid experience with C# / .NET Core or similar backend technologies. Familiarity with JavaScript, TypeScript, React, Vue.js, or other front-end frameworks. Experience building or integrating with microservices, APIs, and distributed systems. Exposure to databases like MySQL or MongoDB, and comfort working with message brokers (e.g. RabbitMQ). You think in systems - how things fit together, scale, and impact users. You thrive in fast-moving environments, stay curious, and don’t wait for direction. Strong communicator and collaborator who enjoys solving problems as part of a team. You take pride in your work - from the code you write to the value it delivers.
Bonus Points For
Hands-on experience with our stack: React, Vue.js, TypeScript, Node.js, .NET Core, MongoDB, Docker, AWS. Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, GitHub Actions, or Team Foundation Server (TFS). Experience with performance optimization or distributed architecture design. Contributions to automation, developer tooling, or internal platform improvements.
