Senior Software Engineer, AI

The Role 

A Senior full-stack Engineering role working on integrating Generative AI into existing products at StarRez. A fundamental part of our journey into AI, you will be a founding member of a new team building Generative AI products for StarRez - aiming to learn fast while establishing product, process and engineering best practices to be shared later across the broader Engineering org.

You’re motivated by solving customer problems and providing value in creative ways utilising new technologies. Commercial experience with these technologies isn’t a requirement for this role, rather you will be able to demonstrate significant experience creating products and features from the ground up, and successfully taking them through to production.

Working closely with Product, Designers, Quality, Security, Platform and Engineering you'll bring your strong technology, delivery management and people skills together to deliver high quality software solutions to our customers.

You have an uncanny knack for problem solving and you have a sharp product mindset. Our engineers are involved in all aspects of the software design process and create high-performing, scalable, and secure products. 

 

What You Will Own

• Development, maintenance and support of a C# NET application
• Collaborate with engineers, product managers, designers and other stakeholders within Australia and internationally to meet customers’ needs
• Write clean, maintainable code following SOLID principles and appropriate design patterns
• Implement comprehensive testing strategies and participate in thorough code reviews
• Debug and triage production issues with system integrations
• Optimize code and infrastructure for performance, scalability, and security
• Collaborate with team members in an agile/scrum environment to deliver high-quality solutions

Required Qualifications 

• 5+ years of commercial experience as a developer, the ability to explain concepts and mentor junior developers;
• Demonstrated experience creating products and features from the ground up, and successfully taking them through to production;
• Experience working on SAAS platforms at scale;
• An inclination towards communication, inclusion, and visibility;
• .NET framework 4.6+ / .NET 6+;
• Microsoft Visual Studio, C#, ASP.NET;
• Web technologies – MVC, HTML, XML, JavaScript, CSS etc;
• Azure SQL;
• Azure DevOps;
• Kubernetes;
• Git;
