About the Role
Help build the next generation of developer tooling to enable our fast-growing engineering team! We’re looking for individuals with a passion for great developer tooling and developer experience to build and maintain our next generation of the tools and infrastructure necessary to scale our team into the hundreds of engineers over the next few years. You’ll work on a team of other like-minded engineers, optimizing workflows, streamlining CI and deploy pipelines, developing CLI tools, and adding enhancements to improve platform stability and observability while at the same time removing friction and reducing developer cycle times.
Responsibilities
Design, build, and maintain internal developer tools, CLI applications, and automation frameworks that improve engineering productivityDevelop and enhance CI/CD pipelines, build systems, and deployment automationCreate and maintain development environment setup tools, including containerization and local development configurationsBuild observability and debugging tools to help engineers diagnose issues fasterOptimize build times, test execution, and deployment processesImplement and maintain code quality tools (linters, formatters, static analysis)Partner with engineering teams to understand pain points and identify tooling opportunitiesConduct training sessions and create documentation for internal toolsParticipate in architecture reviews and provide input on tooling implications
Qualifications
5+ years of software engineering experience, with at least 2 years focused on developer tooling or platform engineeringStrong programming skills in languages commonly used for tooling (Python, Go, TypeScript/JavaScript, Bash)Deep understanding of CI/CD concepts and experience with platforms like Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, or CircleCIExperience with containerization (Docker, Kubernetes) and infrastructure as code (Terraform, CloudFormation)Proficiency with build tools and package managers across multiple ecosystemsExperience with monitoring and observability platforms (Datadog, New Relic, Prometheus)Strong communication skills with ability to understand and translate developer needs into technical solutionsProblem-solving orientation with focus on pragmatic solutionsPassion for developer experience and engineering productivity
