Senior Software Engineer - Endpoint Services Portal (Ruby/Rails)
Jobgether • USThis position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Senior Software Engineer – Endpoint Services Portal (Ruby/Rails) based in the United States.
This role sits at the intersection of platform engineering and customer-facing product development, focused on building the portal experiences that power endpoint visibility, health, and remediation at massive scale. You will help transform complex backend and agent-generated signals into clear, actionable workflows used by customers and internal teams to understand and manage device fleets. The work directly impacts how security and operations teams diagnose issues, respond to incidents, and maintain trust in endpoint environments. You’ll collaborate closely with engineers working on endpoint agents, product managers, and support teams to design seamless cross-system experiences. This is a highly hands-on engineering role where your work will shape how critical platform data is exposed and operationalized. You’ll also influence architecture, improve engineering practices, and mentor peers while working in a fast-paced, mission-driven cybersecurity environment.
Accountabilities:
- Design, build, and maintain scalable portal features in Ruby on Rails that surface endpoint health, diagnostics, troubleshooting, and remediation workflows for customers and internal teams.
- Translate complex agent and backend signals into intuitive, reliable, and actionable product experiences within the endpoint services portal.
- Own end-to-end delivery of portal capabilities, ensuring high standards for performance, reliability, usability, and maintainability.
- Collaborate closely with agent engineers, product managers, and support teams to define requirements and turn platform capabilities into usable workflows.
- Develop data models, APIs, and service integrations that support scalable and consistent portal experiences across the platform.
- Participate in technical design discussions, contributing to architecture decisions and balancing usability, scalability, and delivery speed.
- Improve operational outcomes by enhancing troubleshooting tools, reducing support friction, and helping resolve production issues.
- Mentor engineers, participate in code reviews, and promote engineering best practices across the team.
- 8+ years of professional software engineering experience building complex, scalable systems or platform products.
- 5+ years of hands-on experience developing production applications using Ruby on Rails.
- Strong experience with relational databases (e.g., PostgreSQL) and ORM frameworks such as ActiveRecord.
- Proven ability to build customer-facing or internal platform tools that translate backend systems into usable product experiences.
- Strong understanding of distributed systems, debugging, and production troubleshooting in large-scale environments.
- Experience working across cross-functional teams and bridging backend/platform engineering with product or operational needs.
- Solid foundation in software design principles, clean architecture, and maintainable code practices.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to both engineering and non-technical stakeholders.
- Familiarity with AI-assisted development tools is a plus.
- Interest in expanding into endpoint or agent-side systems over time is highly valued.
- Fully remote-first work environment across the United States.
- Competitive compensation package including base salary, bonus, and equity.
- Comprehensive health, dental, and vision insurance coverage.
- 401(k) plan with employer contribution.
- Generous PTO, paid holidays, and paid parental leave.
- Home office setup stipend and monthly digital reimbursement.
- Annual learning and professional development budget.
- Stock options for all full-time employees.
- Life and disability insurance coverage.
- Access to coaching and professional growth platforms to support career development.
