Zoox is looking for a safety-critical software engineer to join our Collision Avoidance System Motion planning team. In this role, you will be responsible for bringing cutting edge motion planning and control systems towards high standard safety ratings. This is a multidisciplinary role that will get you exposed to safety-critical system engineering, perception, prediction, and embedded computing. You will lead the effort redefining what cutting-edge AI software can do in high-mission-assurance environments.
In this role, you will:
Design and implement real-time software systems in C++ to build our Collision Avoidance Motion Planning System with low latency algorithm and improve the robustness of the software.Lead the technical direction of software projects, define architecture, design patterns, and best practices. Design, develop, and review complex software components, ensure code quality and maintainability. Provide guidance and mentorship to junior and mid-level software engineers. Identify and resolve complex technical challenges, analyze data to identify potential issues.
Qualifications
MS or higher degree in related field with 6 years of industry experience Strong expertise in modern C++ development and building scalable, robust systemsHave experience of real-time system, especially latency handlingMust be a team player with good communication skills and be able to guide the team member through software architecture design, experience with mentoring team membersPast experience of Autonomous driving or robotics industry
