Accountabilities:
- Build and maintain modern, accessible, and performant web applications that support digital transformation initiatives.
- Collaborate closely with designers, researchers, product managers, and backend engineers to deliver cohesive and user-friendly experiences.
- Implement responsive interfaces, integrate APIs, and manage asynchronous data flows for seamless interactions.
- Contribute to frontend architecture, component libraries, and scalable design patterns.
- Apply lean-agile practices, including API-first design, version control, automated testing, and CI/CD processes.
- Identify and address technical debt, performance issues, and opportunities for continuous improvement.
- Evaluate and incorporate emerging technologies, including AI/ML-driven features, where they enhance the user experience.
- Document solutions clearly and share knowledge to promote maintainability and long-term scalability.
- Proven experience building modern web applications using React or equivalent single-page frameworks.
- Strong understanding of frontend architecture, state management, asynchronous data fetching, and API integration patterns.
- Experience collaborating with backend teams (especially Python-based) to deliver cohesive, high-quality user experiences.
- Hands-on experience designing interactive, data-rich UIs, dashboards, and visualizations.
- Familiarity with secure, compliant software development practices and common vulnerability mitigation.
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines, AWS hosting and build services, or similar deployment tools.
- Knowledge of accessibility-first and user-centered design principles.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively in remote, cross-functional teams.
- Passion for improving public outcomes through digital services and civic-focused technology.
- U.S. work authorization required; some roles may require security clearance or federal eligibility.
