The Impact You Will Have:

SonarQube for IDE is an advanced plugin designed for leading Integrated Development Environments (IDEs) to help developers identify and remediate code quality and security issues. By performing real-time analysis and highlighting potential problems, this tool integrates seamlessly with SonarQube Server and SonarQube Cloud, providing a comprehensive development experience.

We are seeking a software developer with expertise on C# to join our dynamic IDE Experience squad. In this role, you will contribute to building the next generation of developer tools by designing and delivering features that help ensure human and AI-generated code meets quality and security standards within Visual Studio. Your objective will be to make SonarQube for Visual Studio an indispensable tool for all C# developers.

What You Will Do Daily:

  • Join the IDE Experience squad, responsible for the development of the SonarQube for IDE extensions; your main focus will be on SonarQube for Visual Studio. Your responsibilities will include contributing to specifications, writing code and tests, reviewing peers’ code, validating features, and managing releases.
  • Become an expert on the Visual Studio Extensibility SDK, pushing the boundaries of what can be done with its APIs.
  • Regularly evaluate the latest approaches for assessing AI-generated code. Share findings and best practices with the team, and actively contribute to a safety- and quality-first culture when integrating AI development assistance.
  • Engage with the Open-Source community, other SonarSourcers, and the Support team and integrate their feedback.
  • Foster continuous improvement within your squad by participating in retrospectives, sharing your technical expertise, and taking on a fair share of the team’s workload.
  • The Experience You Will Need:

  • Proven track record in software development with a strong focus on C# and the .NET ecosystem.
  • Excellent engineering skills and a good understanding of Computer Science fundamentals and agile methodologies.
  • Fluency in source code quality and associated practices: clean code principles, tests (unit and functional), CI/CD, and code reviews.
  • ​​Experience with, or a strong interest in, AI-assisted coding —paired with the ability to systematically and critically assess the accuracy, reliability, usability, and security of AI-generated code.
  • Fluency in English, both written and spoken.
