We are looking for a strong JavaScript-focused Software Engineer with excellent logical thinking and problem solving skills to join the Gliffy engineering team. In this role, you will work across the stack with a primary emphasis on JavaScript, TypeScript, and
Node.js, contributing to both front end and back end systems that power a widely used diagramming product.
This role is ideal for engineers who enjoy solving complex problems, writing clean and maintainable code, and building scalable product features. Exposure to databases, serverless architectures, Java, and AI-powered integrations is a plus.
Responsibilities
Analyse and understand functional and technical requirements for new features and enhancements Provide coding estimates for the sameDesign, develop, and maintain features using JavaScript, TypeScript, and Node.jsBuild well-structured, readable, and maintainable code following best practices and coding standards Develop unit and integration tests for new feature implementationsDebug, analyze, and correct defects across multiple supported browsersProvide constructive feedback during peer code reviews and technical design discussionExecute consistently on scoped assignmentsCreate documentation about features you develop that is sufficient for others in your team to understand what has been doneAttend and contribute to all regularly scheduled planning meetings, status meetings, feature demonstration sessions, and retrospective meetings in an Agile development environmentWork well as part of a team to deliver high-quality projectsMentor junior/intermediate developers in all of the above
Requirements:
5+ years of hands-on software development experience on front-end and back-end.Strong proficiency in JavaScript and TypeScript.Excellent problem solving skills, logical reasoning, and ability to break down complex problems.Experience working with at least one modern JavaScript framework such as React, Angular, or Vue.jsSolid experience building back-end services using Node.js Experience working as part of a team on a large applicationStrong understanding of software engineering fundamentals: Database, data structures, APIs, modular design and testingCollege/University degree in Computer Science or equivalentStrong communication skillsPassion for software quality engineering.
