About the Role

We're looking for a Software Engineering Intern to join our engineering team and contribute directly to the features that power Avoca's AI-driven customer service platform.

This is a real engineering internship. You'll work alongside full-stack engineers, pick up tickets, ship code, and see your work reach actual customers. You'll get exposure to the full product development cycle, from understanding customer feedback to building and iterating on features, with mentorship from a team that cares about doing things well.

What You’ll Do

• Contribute to frontend and backend feature development across Avoca's core product

• Work with engineers to turn customer feedback into product improvements

• Write clean, tested code and participate in code reviews

• Collaborate with Product and Customer Success to understand what gets built and why

• Bring curiosity and energy to a team that moves fast and takes ownership

What You'll Bring

• Currently pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field

• Hands-on coding experience through coursework, personal projects, or prior internships, full-stack exposure is a plus

• Interest in AI, LLMs, or AI-assisted products

• Outcome-oriented: you care about what your work actually does, not just that it runs

• Collaborative, low-ego, and comfortable asking questions in a fast-paced environment

• Bonus: prior startup experience, personal projects, or anything you've built and shipped on your own

• Availability to work in person with us in NYC
