The Role
GeoComply runs fraud detection at a scale most engineers never encounter, billions of monthly transactions, real-time decisions, zero tolerance for error. As a Software Engineer Intern, you won't just implement tickets. You'll bring product curiosity, take real ownership of your work, and use AI tools as a default part of how you build. This is what engineering looks like here.
Use AI-assisted tools (coding assistants, LLM-powered workflows) as a default part of your engineering practice, not occasionally, but every day.
Spot opportunities within your project area where AI can reduce toil, improve accuracy, or accelerate delivery, and propose it.
Understand the why behind each feature, know how your work connects to user needs and business impact, not just the ticket description.
Participate in the full software development lifecycle: scoping, implementation, testing, and post-release monitoring.
Write well-tested, readable code and collaborate with the QA team to ensure high-quality deliverables.
Raise risks early, surface blockers, edge cases, and tradeoffs proactively rather than waiting to be asked.
Contribute ideas to improve the product and process, your perspective as a newcomer is genuinely valuable.
Get involved in real production systems handling billions of monthly transactions, learn what "scale" actually means in practice.
Pursuing or recently graduated with a bachelor's Degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or a similar field of study.
Solid fundamentals: data structures, algorithms, and at least one backend language.
You've already experimented with AI tools: coding assistants, LLM-based workflows, or prompt engineering. You don't need to be an expert, but you're genuinely curious and have tried things.
You naturally think about users and outcomes, not just code and tickets.
Comfortable with ambiguity, you can make progress and ask the right questions when requirements aren't fully defined.
High integrity: you handle sensitive systems and data responsibly.
Good written and verbal English; you can explain your work clearly to teammates across functions.
