This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for a Software Engineer (L3) in United States.
This role offers the chance to contribute to the development of scalable, secure, and high-performance backend systems that power identity and authentication solutions. The Software Engineer (L3) will work on building APIs, distributed services, and core platform capabilities, supporting both human and non-human identity use cases. You will collaborate closely with product and engineering leadership to shape technical direction, deliver impactful features, and ensure reliability at scale. The role provides a startup-like environment with high ownership and fast execution while leveraging the reach and resources of a large platform. Ideal candidates are hands-on engineers who thrive in solving complex problems, mentoring peers, and delivering robust software systems that make a tangible impact. The position embraces remote-first work and encourages innovative thinking in a collaborative setting.

Accountabilities:

  • Build, maintain, and enhance backend product capabilities, including APIs and authentication flows for identity systems.
  • Design and implement scalable, reliable distributed services optimized for security, latency, and developer experience.
  • Collaborate with product and engineering leadership to translate requirements into high-impact technical plans.
  • Partner across teams to align on architecture, integrate platform capabilities, and unblock cross-team initiatives.
  • Own technical quality: write design documents, make key architectural decisions, review code, and stay close to the systems you ship.
  • Tackle ambiguous problems, make pragmatic trade-offs, and adopt new technologies or strategies as needed.
  • Enhance production resilience through strong observability, incident response, and remediation.
  • Mentor and support other engineers through knowledge-sharing, code reviews, and feedback.
  • Requirements:
  • 5+ years of experience designing, building, and operating high-scale, mission-critical cloud-based production systems.
  • Strong programming skills in modern languages (e.g., Go, Python, Java) with adherence to best coding practices.
  • Extensive experience with RESTful API design and development.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent industry experience.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience building reliable backend systems and distributed services with attention to security and performance.
  • Ability to work in on-call rotation schedules, including weekends and holidays.
  • Preferred: familiarity with Kubernetes, DynamoDB, developer tools, internal platforms, or hands-on side projects demonstrating engineering passion.
  • Benefits:
  • Competitive salary with potential equity and performance-based bonuses.
  • Comprehensive healthcare coverage including medical, dental, and vision.
  • 401(k) retirement savings plan with employer match.
  • Flexible vacation, paid personal time off, and generous parental leave.
  • Remote-first work with occasional travel for team or project meetings.
  • Opportunities for professional development, skill growth, and mentoring.
  • Inclusive and collaborative work environment that supports innovation and ownership.
