This role offers the opportunity to design, develop, and maintain critical software systems that support satellite operations and mission control. You will work on a web-based application and supporting microservices that enable spacecraft operators and analysts to monitor, control, and optimize satellite performance. The position involves building automation tools, APIs, and infrastructure to streamline operational workflows while collaborating closely with cross-functional teams. Candidates will tackle complex engineering challenges, contribute to mission-critical systems, and improve the efficiency and reliability of satellite operations. Accountabilities:
Develop, maintain, and enhance the web-based Mission Control platform and its supporting microservicesDesign and implement HTTP APIs, evaluate software technologies, and deploy mission-critical infrastructureAutomate operational workflows to reduce manual tasks for satellite operators and analystsCollaborate with Satellite Operations, Pipeline, Product, and other teams to ensure software meets operational requirementsParticipate in code reviews, maintain documentation, and follow best practices for testing and quality assuranceMonitor and troubleshoot system performance, ensuring high reliability and uptime of mission-critical servicesRequirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Aerospace Engineering, or related field2+ years of professional software development experienceProficiency in Python programming and API designExperience with relational databases (Postgres, MySQL, etc.) and Linux environmentsFamiliarity with continuous integration/deployment workflows (e.g., GitLab CI, Docker)Strong problem-solving skills, self-starter mentality, and ability to work in a dynamic environmentExcellent communication skills and ability to collaborate across multiple teamsBenefits:
