The key function of the Software Engineer Co-op is to gain knowledge and experience in building and maintaining systems and tools. This position works collaboratively with other engineers and teams to maintain high performance and optimize workflows of our game teams.
This role is a full-time, on-site position based 5 days a week at our Downtown Vancouver studio.
In this role, you can expect to:
Write, test, and maintain code following coding standards and best practices.Collaborate effectively with team members, participate in code reviews, and adhere to established development processes.Debug and solve software issues, providing effective solutions.Maintain clear and concise documentation for code and project-related materials.Continuously learn and improve technical skills and knowledge.Communicate progress, challenges, and updates to team members and stakeholders.Adhere to project deadlines and milestones, managing tasks efficiently.Seek mentorship and knowledge sharing as needed, contributing to team growth.
To be successful in this role, your background includes:
Is in 3rd or 4th year in a post-secondary Bachelor's program in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience.Solid understanding of C# or C++.Experience with performance profiling.Ability to write clean, simple, well-documented code from design requirements.Experience with game jams and game development.Proven track record of working independently and collaboratively in a dynamic team setting.Exposure to Android / iOS Mobile application development.Ability to effectively communicate with technical and non-technical team members.
