Accountabilities:

  • Lead technical delivery for a team of 12–20 engineers, ensuring successful execution of high-impact initiatives.
  • Define and drive technical direction in collaboration with Product Management, acting as the primary responsible individual for critical objectives.
  • Solve large, ambiguous backend and product challenges that affect company-wide outcomes.
  • Write high-quality, maintainable code and contribute to the most complex system components.
  • Architect scalable and reliable systems that support new product capabilities for millions of users.
  • Influence cross-team roadmaps and decisions, fostering collaboration and breaking down silos.
  • Mentor and coach senior engineers, raising technical standards and promoting best practices in a virtual-first environment.
  • Requirements:

    • BS, MS, or PhD in Computer Science or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
    • Minimum of 12 years of experience as a software engineer, with a strong record in consumer-facing products.
    • Deep expertise across multiple technical areas such as backend services, databases, concurrency, search, storage, mobile, frontend, or modern ML/LLM APIs.
    • Proven ability to lead technical teams in delivering complex, high-impact projects.
    • Hands-on coding experience and ability to design and implement foundational system components.
    • Strong communication and collaboration skills to influence across teams and organizational levels.
    • Experience with large-scale, user-facing systems and understanding of operational excellence, reliability, and scalability.
    • Strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities, with a focus on long-term impact.
    • Preferred: experience designing and implementing consumer onboarding or activation flows on web platforms.
