We're looking for a Staff Software Engineer to drive significant technical impact in our platform group. You'll partner with key stakeholders to build critical core platform services and support FloQast applications from Close Management to Compliance. This is an opportunity to join as a senior technical leader and shape the architecture and direction of our platform.
You'll be part of our platform group, responsible for architecture, functional specifications & design, generally helping set technical direction. Your work will directly impact other application teams and support our end users by greatly accelerating innovation at FloQast.
This role is hybrid 3X per week to our San Jose Office

What You'll Do
Architect and Build: Design and implement core platform features that power FloQast's applications & workflowsTechnical Leadership: Lead technical design discussions and establish engineering best practices across the teamProduct Partnership: Collaborate with product and design to shape the roadmap and deliver exceptional user experiences for accounting teamsMentorship: Guide and develop other engineers through code reviews, pairing sessions, and technical workshopsSystem Excellence: Drive improvements in system reliability, performance, and developer experienceStrategic Decisions: Own critical technical decisions that impact the entire platform architectureCustomer Focus: Engage with customers and internal stakeholders to understand workflows and deliver solutions that transform FloQast applicationsInnovation: Explore and implement new technologies to strengthen core platform services
What You'll Bring
10+ years of software engineering experience with a track record of designing and driving complex technical projectsDeep expertise in backend and frontend technologies like Go, Node.js, TypeScript, React, MongoDB, and AWSExperience designing and implementing scalable distributed systems serving enterprise customersStrong product sense and ability to balance technical excellence with business impactTrack record of mentoring engineers and elevating team capabilitiesExperience working closely with product, UI/UX design, and cross-functional teamsProven ability to navigate ambiguity and drive projects from conception to productionExperience with API design and building developer-friendly interfacesUnderstanding of security and compliance requirements for enterprise SaaS
